About Our Market
The Zionsville Farmers' Market was started in 1997 by volunteers who saw an opportunity to bring fresh, local produce to the Zionsville community. Since then, it has grown into a staple of Zionsville summers, providing those who visit with produce, baked goods, and freshly prepared food by our fantastic vendors. We pride ourselves on a diverse group of vendors and goods that bring people from near and far to the heart of Zionsville, located right on our historic main street.
We are more than just a place to pick up groceries – we are a community gathering spot where people can come together, share stories, and enjoy local music while shopping for fresh and healthy food!
25+ Years in the Zionsville Community
The Zionsville Farmers' Market celebrated it's 25th anniversary in 2022! To mark the occasion, we produced a video to capture the history and community impact our market has had. We interviewed Barbra Munson, the founder of our market, along with vendors, board members, and community members. This video was made possible by our board member Kathy Brown, a grant from the Town of Zionsville, and Collin Stroup of Stroup Media who filmed and edited the video.
2026 Board of Directors

Patti Hammerle
President
Born and raised in New York, Patti came to Indiana to attend IU and never left. She raised her boys in Brownsburg where she was a library board member for more than 10 years and served as president and treasurer. She moved to the Village as an empty nester with her husband John and two dogs in 2022 and it has been every thing she had hoped it would be. She spent the first summer in Zionsville attending the market every week and volunteering once a month. When the treasurer position on the board opened, it seemed a perfect fit with her finance background to support an organization that she finds so special. Now she serves as our president. She says she never shops in the grocery store produce section during market season and encourages everyone to come out and enjoy what the market has to offer.

Marlene Doney
Treasurer
Marlene moved to Zionsville in December 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, to raise her grandson. When he no longer lived with her, she decided to get involved in the community. So, where is it better to start than the Zionsville Farmers' Market? She started volunteering in the summer of 2025. When asked to serve as treasurer, she quickly accepted the responsibility. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting. As a Southern California native who has lived in the Midwest, the East Coast, the South, Northern California, she is proud to call Indiana home. She enjoys the walkability of the town, and the rail trail is her favorite walking path. She is also treasurer of the Lions Club. Marlene says connecting with the community and working with others dedicated to Zionsville has been very fulfilling.

Kristin Nester
Market Coordinator
Kristin grew up on the East Coast, but moved to Indiana to get her master's degree in special education. Kristin lives in the Village with her husband, son, daughter, and chocolate Lab. She loves the Zionsville Farmers' Market because she loves getting to know the local farmers and making fresh produce accessible to her community. Kristin started out with the market as a volunteer and enjoys managing the logistics of growing our amazing market.

Volunteering with the market allows her to support the community, meet new people, and catch up with neighbors. When not at the market, Danielle mostly spends her time working and driving her kids to and from their activities.
